the Sanhedrin president Hillel II nearly 1700 years ago.

calculate/convert between Gregorian and Hebrew dates.


Although this is the official calendar used today in modern Israel and
used by Jews throughout the World, please bear in mind that it is NOT
God's calendar as described in the Torah.  The original Biblical Hebrew
Calendar was based on observations of the new crescent moon.  After the
Temple was destroyed approximately 40 years after Christ's death and
resuration the Hebrew Calendar in use at the time was lost due to the
destruction of the Temple.  Today's Hebrew Calendar is calculated using
mathematical formulas developed nearly 1700 years ago.
